In John 6:1-15, Jesus and the disciples looked out over a large crowd of at least 5,000 people who came to hear the Word of God, but who were also hungry and in need of food. The disciples had no idea how to meet everyone’s needs, but they brought whatever they could find to the Lord, and miraculously Jesus made their gifts enough to feed all who were hungry.

With that story in mind, the members of Dade City Christian Church are happy to provide a free food pantry to our local community. We bring what we can when we can to help those who live in the Dade City and Zephyrhills area who are hungry. We do not require anyone to fill out personal information, make donations to the church, or perform service in exchange for food. We only ask that those in need take only what they need for the week for themselves and their immediate family members, keeping in mind the others like them who are also hungry.

At this time we are only able to offer food assistance, and we do not provide for other physical needs like clothing, shelter, or medication, or financial needs like employment, helping to pay rent or electric bills. Below we have listed some other community assistance resources that you may find helpful for your specific needs.

That Jesus fed over 5,000 people in one day is amazing enough, but is not the end of the story. The next day when people returned, we read in John 6:25-52 that Jesus explained to the crowds that he had something far greater than food to offer them. He told them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.”

We would love the opportunity not only to provide for your physical needs but also to give you something greater, the “Bread of Life,” which is Jesus Christ. You are always welcome to visit us during a regular worship service or office hours to speak with an elder, minister, or member about who Jesus is and what a relationship with him provides. Please let us know if we can pray for you and your family by sharing your needs with whomever assists you at the food pantry, by calling us at (352) 518-0072.
